Shanghai Food Market

These are scattered around the city (see map), and are a great place to sort through familiar and exotic vegetables. Check out the myriad of cabbage varieties like baby Bok Choy (white) and baby Bok Choy (green), Chinese broccoli (Kai Lan), and the oddly named Rapeseed (Yau Choy) which is a leading produce used for vegetable oil. Fire up the wok and create your own stir fry. Just remember that rice for stir fry is always best when cooked the day before and refrigerated over night!
